Post 3 - Days between 18th Feb to 11th Mar

I have thought about another pregnancy test kit from other brand - Clear Blue. As one of our friends have used this. My friends were laughing on me as I was still not sure about her pregnancy. We joked a lot on this. During this time my wife was getting so many suggestions from friends and family. I also have started asking questions to her like if this is okay for her to eat. Don't walk so fast. Please seat carefully. Please don't seat like this.She got aggravated many times on me. Days were running and I was waiting for the 11th March 2 PM. During this time, many times I have chatted/talked with one my best friends. I always wanted to tell him that DUDE, I AM GOING TO BE A FATHER but somewhere I was having a fear of not being sure about this. So I decided to wait till we confirm pregnancy. Someone must be thinking what a tedious/fool person I am who is still not believing.

I really want to say Sorry to my friend as I didn't let him know yet but I'm sure he will forgive me as he know me very well (Do you?).

It is 8th March and we decided to watch  movie "Shadi ke side effect", isn't it sound funny as I am experiencing this HA HA HA. We liked the movie a lot as it was funny. Some of the dialogues were great and we feel like they are just showing our story.

In that movie I heard a very unusual dialogue "WE are pregnant" that is something interesting. I feel it is true because mother is not only the one who become pregnant. Even though he doesn't carry a baby in womb but he also a part of it. Whats your say on it?

Post 1 - First Pregnancy Test at home

Well, I decided to write this as I really never want to forget any special date or any feelings related to this.

Lets start from the day one when we come to know about this.

In February 2014 first week my wife missed period and her friend has asked her to do the test. My wife was also kind of sure that she is pregnant. So they brought test kit at home. She did test on 6th Feb for the first time and the result was POSITIVE. She let me know and I was kind of shocked to hear this...May be its a common reaction/expression from husbands from all over the world :). Also, I was concerned about credibility of the test kit. So we retest next day as well (7th Feb). The result was same. IT IS POSITIVE.

We have decided to let everyone know in our family on 9th Feb as it is my wife's birthday.

On 9th Feb, we let our families know that she is pregnant. Everyone was so happy to hear this.

And I was still confused and not able to trust the test kit.

Post 2 - First Visit to Hospital

We called the Hospital. The first appointment was with Billing manager to discuss charges for the entire maternity care on February 18th.

On February 17th she did the test again as I was not convinced. Well today on March 15th I feel like it was an embarrassing act to ask her to test again (btw this was her third test). As you know boys don't believe things easily unless they see it or someone proves it. And for me it is an life changing event so hope you can understand my feelings during this time.

On 18th February, We went to the hospital. Even though we knew that it is not a meeting with doctor but still I was nervous and I bet she must has been nervous too. Billing manger has greeted us with big "Congratulations!!!", and I got tensed again thinking that well I am not sure about her pregnancy and we are discussing maternity charges and payment options.

The lady was very nice she gave all the billing details and how they take care of a mother during her maternity time. Also, we got to know from her that, October 8th is the due date. Also, on the funny side, I have requested them to provide me the calender they have to see the weeks and all. My wife was laughing like anything due to my act. Anyways that was the first introduction meeting.

We also get the real appointment with doctor on March 11th so I was desperately waiting for that day.

Post 4 - The real first visit with doctor

Well today is the day I was waiting for - 11th March. I was going to get answers for many question.

We went there at 1:35 PM, out appointment was at 2 PM. They called us in and decided to go for an ultrasound as the ultrasound specialist was having some time. Generally they do ultrasound after doctor sees the patient. So she took us in to her room for ultrasound. My wife was very nervous thinking many things. She was hoping everything goes fine.

The ultra sound specialist has spread gel to my wife's belly. My wife was closely looking at the monitor. Specialist has started moving her joystick kind of thing to her belly and started searching for the baby. She found one baby. Now she has started searching for other baby if we have twins. I was thinking what...more than one baby. you gotta be kidding me. but she couldn't find. She confirmed that there is only one BABY. I was so amazed to see the baby. The miracle of life. Specialist pointed baby's forehead, eyes, arms, legs. Wow I cannot express my feelings. Simple amazing. Now I am 100% sure that my wife is PREGNANT (funny right?). Now specialist has decided to catch baby's heartbeats. she increased sound from her machine. We heard baby's heartbeats for the first time....Isn't it amazing? My wife was relieved a little bit at this time as everything was good so far. We also got to know that based on the size of the baby the due date is 1 week early then it was told earlier(8th October). So now the due date is 1st October. One of our sweet friend has also joined us for this visit. Thank you dear. Now, we came out of the Happy Zone (the ultrasound room). Now we were waiting in the other room for the doctor.

Doctor came in and she checked everything. We are glad that everything went fine. We asked few question related to pregnancy to  doctor. We got our answers and said bye to doctor.

After we came out, nurse has asked my wife for the blood sample they need for further tests. she took 10 sample tube of blood. I was feeling bad for my wife but it was for good.
